Wednesday 10th June 2015

This morning we enjoyed a lovely breakfast to set us up for the day. We made a short walk to the North Pier where we were met by a very blingy tram. Our tram ride lasted 30 mins. After our tram ride we went to look at the Comedy Carpet. We searched for famous comedians names and famous quotes. The weather was so lovely today that we played some games on the beach. It was great to let off some steam. Before lunch we went into Jungle Jims and then we went into the ballroom. We saw Simon Calder filming for the BBC. After lunch we went into the circus. Hafsa, Will, Chantelle, Scott and Charlotte all had their names read out for their birthday! The acts were very hair raising….Mrs Davies and Mrs Pointon covered their eyes! When the circus had finished we had a leisurely stroll back to the hotel. Following a brief rest in our rooms and a change of clothes we went down for tea. We are playing bingo tonight and writing postcards…..

Day one of our Blackpool adventure!

Well what a busy day! We’ve all thoroughly enjoyed our day at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, making the most of being outside in the glorious weather. Each and every one of us experienced the thrills of the rides, from Nickleodeon Land to the log flume, and we were certainly ready for our lunch! Time flew by, with many of us ending the day by getting wet on Valhalla, ready for our journey to the hotel.

After a quick drive, we arrived to find our rooms all ready for us and spent some time unpacking and getting ourselves organised – thank goodness we didn’t have to make all of those beds! Rooms sorted, we freshened up and made our way to the dining room for a delicious dinner of homemade burgers or veggie sausages and chips, and gorgeous chocolate brownies with vanilla ice cream – fantastic! With bulging stomachs, we decided we needed a walk along the prom with the beautiful sunset as a backdrop – the perfect way to bring our first day to a close. Then it was back to the hotel to wish William T a ‘Happy Birthday’ with birthday cake and singing!

After a good night’s sleep, we’re all up and raring to go. We’ve had a hearty full English for breakfast (yes, more food!), and are excited for the day ahead, which will include a tram ride along the front, the energy-busting Jungle Jim’s and finally the breath-taking skills of the circus!

Keep checking back for more blogs and feel free to comment; we’ll try to update the Seabridge Radio Twitter account too, as and when we can – WiFi permitting…! @SeabridgeRadio

Cheese, Cider, Criel, Cakes… C?

Evening parents,

Let me start by saying thank you for all of your comments. The children have loved hearing them so far and we will try our best to keep passing the messages on. Secondly, to the children back at school – Thank you for your words to the children and no I have not eaten all the children’s food, nor have I been snoring all night every night. I suspect that whoever thought that I may have been has been misinformed. – Mr Bennett –

Now onto today…

This morning we learnt about how two traditional pieces of Normandy cuisine are produced. The cheese farm at Neufchatel allowed us to purchase heart shaped cheese as we learnt about the story of the 100 years war and the (handsome) British soldiers capturing the hearts of the French ladies. (For more details ask us when we get back home.) The cider (cest cidre,) farm showed us the story of cider, brandy, vinegar and apple juice from pip to branch. We go to try the… vinegar and apple juice but were told we weren’t old enough for the others.

Following this we bought cakes from the local patisserie, wrote our postcards (Which are bound to arrive on Saturday!) and rotated around Fencing and Team Tech.

The evening consisted of us getting spruced up, ready to go to the restaurant and eat in a relaxed, formal area. Everything got eaten!

Now we are all ready for bed, Miss Brooks and Mrs Mitchell are just turning the lights out ready for tomorrow’s adventure.
